It's Christmas. And I hope you are just where you want to be whether that is nestled in your nest; out amongst the last-minute shoppers; or rejoicing in the glory of your family and friends.

It's easy to get caught up in the hurried pace of the holidays. My wish for you is time to slow down, breathe, put yourself at the top of the list, if even for a few hours. Let go of the guilt for missing an invitation; eat what you want without worry of how you'll work it off. Slow down and avoid the anxiety and exhaustion and disappointments of the season. Take naps.

Be the person you most enjoy being with. Offer redemption to those in need and ask for the grace you deserve. Count your blessings. Let the light in. Surrender to the place and the hour.

And remember the true meaning of Christmas is about being generous with your love - not your wallet. Some wait in anticipation all year for Christmas with excitement while others with dread. If you are one of the latter, I hope you find comfort and cheer in the storm.

Rest up because that time is near when we'll look back with reflection and forward with resolve. Change is coming even if it's just longer days. Before you think about the change, rest in gratitude for your gifts and strengths. Take pleasure that you've come this far with all of life's messiness and heartache.

Honor where your spirit has travelled this year and rest assured you'll be in good company on future journeys when you stay true to yourself. Call out wonder and amazement to be your eyes and ears for the rest of 2012, so you'll be ready and steady moving into the new year.

Blessings to all
