Therapy

At Guidance, Growth & Grace, my counseling provides the direction to help clients balance their lives. By working with me, clients will be able to realize their true potential and gain freedom from stress, grief and conflict.

My approach to therapy is designed to help clients meet the following needs:

  • the chance to safely express feelings to reduce anxiety;

  • approach issues of life, illness and death with support;

  • learn to develop relationships with humor, dignity and grace.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and have been practicing for more than 15 years. As an integrative therapist, I work with clients to combine the mind-body-spirit in a way that is most helpful and respectful for them.

I work with individuals, couples and families.

My specialties include:

  • Depression and Anxiety

  • Grief and Loss

  • Family Concerns

  • Young Adult Issues

  • Relationship Issues

  • Marital Issues

Therapy is about healing. We will explore your emotional life, your physical life and, if you are receptive, your spiritual life. I am open to considering how all of these aspects of you might benefit your healing process. These different but connected parts of you also can be a cause of great stress and I am open to finding ways for that to be different.

Therapy is an interactive process between client and counselor. You will benefit more if you come prepared to be an active participant in your own healing. I will be your guide on this journey of growth and change. I approach my therapy not from a standpoint of pathology, but from one of respect for my clients in guiding you to your most authentic self. I will guide you at a pace that is comfortable and appropriate for you, because therapy sometimes can be a difficult process.

What To Expect

Here is a quick overview of what you can expect by working with me as your therapist.

Appointments

My services are by appointment only. Length of appointments are 45-60 minutes. I expect payment at time of service. Because appointments are reserved for you specifically, I must charge for appointments not cancelled a full 24 hours in advance. For any missed visit, the client will be charged the full fee.

Insurance Issues

Insurance can be complex. I will file your sessions for you with your insurance provider, if I am in network otherwise I will provide a super bill with the information you need to file for reimbursement. Please be aware that in order to do this, I am required by the insurance company to give you a mental illness diagnosis. Filing insurance is not a guarantee of payment — even with authorization. Ultimately you are responsible for payment.

Fees

My self-pay fees are $120 per individual, couple or family for a 45-60 minute session; $180 per individual, couple or family for a 90-minute session; and, $240 per individual, couple or family two-hour session.

If you choose to use insurance, you must pay the negotiated rate until your deductible is met, or, you must pay the negotiated co-pay and/or co-insurance at the time of the visit. It is part of my contract with your insurance company that I collect the fee at the time of service. We will do our best to determine your fees — which are assigned by your insurance provider — however, you are ultimately responsible for payment.

We accept cash, check or credit card. Please make sure you read carefully our paperwork regarding fees, non-payment, and returned checks.
